I’ve been working on a blog post about the Martin Luther King Day celebration we had at the Woodley Airport here in Compton. (What? You didn’t know there’s an airport here in Compton?! Well then there’s a lot of things you still need to learn about Compton. Cause this is not just any airport…but more about that later!)
For those of you who missed it, about 600 folks came out to clean up the hangar attached to Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum. This clean-up day was organized in order to make room for a new STEM lab (science, technology, engineering, mathematics,) that will be housed there as a new addition to TAM’s youth programs. It was an amazing day, filled with the kind of spirit and camaraderie that can only be experienced when a community stands together!
I stopped by the day “before” the clean-up to get some pictures and document the work ahead. Here’s what I saw:
Wow! There was a lot of work that needed to be done. Now that you’ve seen the “before” shots — make sure to stop by later to see what was accomplished!!
